Our Overall Service
TCI works with a company called Attic systems and provided me the best solution to my issue with uncomfortable temperatures on the 2nd floor of my bungalow style home.
My home is a typical 1950s bungalow, as with most of these homes the second floor was converted into a living space. I have three different attic spaces. 1: the knee wall areas on one side of the house 2: knee wall area on the other side. 3. Attic space above the room.
Where TCI shines is there silver GLO for the knee wall space, other companies just want to throw or blow in insulation in that entire space. However with the Silver GLO boards not only is it better insulated but I can also use that area as conditioned storage space. This solution also help condition the first floor ceiling better since its right over it.
Within 1 day the temperatures on the second floor were at about the same as the first, and the humidity was completely gone. Even the first floor was more comfortable and i was even able to lower the AC thermostat even more because my AC system can actually handle it. (about 5 degrees)
TCI resolved all of my issues. The entire staff was also a pleasure to work with.

They laid out blankets as to not dirty my home, they also wear shoe covers in the home as to not dirty anything. They also vacuumed after, as if they weren't there!

My main complaints we uncomfortable temperatures in the rooms in the summer and winter, at least a 20 degree difference between here and the first floor, sometimes 25 deg. A few companies came and gave me quotes, few of which were cheaper in price. However I went with TCI because they were the only company to actually provide a product that would actually solve my problems, I used my engineering judgment to evaluate this. Most companies out there do provide blown in cellulose, however they do not provide air sealing which is a big deal. Where TCI shines is there silver GLO for the knee wall space, other companies just want to throw or blow in insulation in that entire space. However with the Silver GLO boards not only is it better insulated but I can also use that area as conditioned storage space. This solution also help condition the first floor ceiling better since its right over it. Temperatures in that space dropped about 25 degrees in one day, that heat used to soak into my 2nd floor living space. Within 1 day the temperatures on the second floor were at about the same as the first, and the humidity was completely gone. Even the first floor was more comfortable and i was even able to lower the AC thermostat even more because my AC system can actually handle it. (about 5 degrees) Before TCI, my attic insulation was so bad that it was basically non existent, about less than an R-5, arguably R-0. After TCI the ceiling was at an R-49, and knee walls at R-20. Go with the pros, don't pay for underperformance elsewhere.our service area
